"One see's clearly only with the heart"- President Uchtdorf

I didn't have the opportunity to watch the Christmas Devotional last night, thank heavens for the internet! Watching the Frist Presidency speak today changed my life, in the way I see things.

I could not stop crying for the life of me during President Uchtdorf's talk. I will try and spare you from the boredom of all my ramblings but I do want to share a few things. When he quoted, "Grownups never understand things themselves..." my brain couldn't think fast enough. I could not agree more with this statement. I had the amazing opportunity to see the world through three year old eyes both through my nanny job, and my two months as a sunbeam teacher. It may not have been a large amount of time but it was enough to see the special spirit that surronds a child. Never will I doubt the love our Father feels for his small children for they are so close to his presence. What so many people fail to realize is the love of the Lord never changes, its us who change. We seperate ourselves from his presence, we begin to desire wordly things. His love will NEVER fail us. Its only us who can fail. He has given us everything we need to return that love, and return home.
"One becomes pre-occupied with responsibilities, comittments, and the stress of many tasks that we fail to see with our hearts that which is essential and most sacred."
We can't let the world beat us, we have a far greater destiny, far above worldly riches and power. We have everlasting joy and the promise of forever. Don't give up what you want most for what you want now. You'll spend forever regretting it! Thanks for listening to me blaabber on. I love you all! Its Christmas time, so make sure you smile. It will do wonders :)
