394

394 days seems like nothing when eyes closed
Chocolate skin, velvet hands, the air of sweet laughter
fills my mind and senses to the brim
and I find that smile I was after

394 days seems like a lifetime ago
when I long to hold them in my arms
and yearn to watch them grow

In my dreams I hear them say
Sister sister! Look at me
As they dance and sing; for work is play
though few of us would agree

"You are welcome"
A sincere and eager greet
from those with in the orphanage
and all the villagers I meet

394 days ago a single life was changed
traveling by plane across the sea
I went to change the world
but instead their world changed me
