So I am currently sitting in the internet cafe in Kpando (Pan-Dough) and its been an hour and thirteen minutes and I have done literally nothing. My email opened long enough to read them but that was it I couldn't send any. Sorry! I managed to get some messages send off of facebook to my family so thats good. We have updated our African Blog once so far and will do so again later this week. I am not sure if I will update this again its far too much work so keep that link and keep up with it all there! (if it doesn't work its klmafricanadventures.blogpot.com there is also a link on the side of this blog)
I can tell you already I will never be the same after this experience. Its been more than worth it and I am completely in love. In love with the children, the culture and not so much the weather. Seriously I have never sweat more in my life!! Its disgusting but I am getting use to it. My insomnia prepared me well. I sleep very little because its so ghastly hot but I don't mind because the days are full of smiles, laughs, games and adventures. I couldn't ask for anything else.
I just looked at my elbows and there is a layer of dirt nestled there. Sick. The bucket showers don't cut it ha ha We never truly realize how blessed we are until we see how other people live. I sometimes feel like I am on a "save the children" commericial. Its devestating and completely heartbreaking to realize we know so very little about the world in the U.S. We are so priveliged. I could go on for hours, but I wont. I hate that I can't do more. Its driving me insane that I have nearly nothing to give them, but I know its a good thing I am here. Just giving these children love and attention and human contact means so much to them, and its changed the person I am.
Their smiles are contagious and their eagerness to learn is refreshing. They don't see their lives as miserable or hard. They see opportunity and life in everything. Its beautiful. I wish I could give them the world, instead they've changed mine. Love you all keep up with the other blog!
Warning: I may never come home.
