I am so scared.... err... I mean excited!

Well we officially have our flights to Africa. I am really going. I mean I knew I was, and was fully planning on it.... its just so real now. My passport came in the mail as well today. I really am so excited for this opportunity. I am fulfilling a dream and going with my two best friends, as well as a new friend I have made as of recent. Our itenerary is as follows :

We leave Thursday May 6, 2010 at 12:50 am from the Salt Lake City airport. We land in Atlanta, Georgia at 6:19 am. We have a 6 hour layover (yes lame.... but its all we could get) then leave Atlanta for Accra, Ghana at 12:20 pm. (We have a pit stop at JFK but we don't get off the plane.) We land in Accra at 7:40 am on May 7, 2010. The flight is 11 hours. ELEVEN HOURS. I realize there are longer flights out there, but if you know me well... you know planes terrify me. In reality I am much calmer about them since I flew a great deal last year, but still... not my favorite activity. Although traveling is. Oxy moron any one?

We will be in Africa for exactly 4 weeks. Our flight leaves at 9:30 am on June 3, 2010 and we get to JFK at 4:50 pm and then leave for SLC at 4:50 arriving back at 10:45 pm. Can you say longest day ever?

I really am so excited and I know I will never regret this opportunity.... the little things are just getting to me. Malaria medication being the biggest one. The side affects are SO scary. So if any one, who reads this, has experience with malaria meds your knowledge would be appreciated greatly.

So far the side affects can be anthing from coughing to hallucinations and suicidal thoughts. Really? Ok sure please let me take that every day for a month. Awesome. I know its necessary but that doesn't make it less scary ha ha

I'm sure this post is insanely boring to you so I will liven it up with a picture of my adorably charming nephew. Jessica and Colby and Lucas came up to visit this weekend. I love all of them so much and I can't believe how big Lucas is getting. He is 5 months old already.

the baby is really cute :) ps you should talk to Bex she got all the shots and took the pills when she went to Africa. I don't think they're really that bad I think she just had weird dreams.
