Oops. I took longer to update than I thought... My bad!

Here is a quick background story before I announce my news. (I realize now I have made this SO much bigger than it should be. Ha ha Oh well.) As most of you know last year I was in New York caring for these beautiful children: (Ok my internet hates me and wont upload the pictures. If you look at previous posts you will surely see tons of pictures of them ha ha)

As the months went on Brie and I formed a very close bond. She needed me a lot more than Nate did, and well I needed her. She had some developmental hindrances, mainly dealing with speech and eating. It also took her just a little longer to catch on to the world around her. However she is a very bright girl and so intuned with how others are feeling. I remember one particular day when I had basically just had it with being taken advantage of, being away from my family, and missing Andrew; I was changing her diaper and we were talking. (I was talking in my horrible British accent, she loves it) Any way when she stood up and I fixed her hair she put her hand on my cheek and said, "Its gunna be ok." Pretty sure we had been talking about Max and Ruby, but this beautiful little spirit saq right through my act.
As time went on I saw her develop and, through three different therapists, make many accomplishments. Her parents, unforunately, were under a disillusion that she wasn't slightly autistic. Any one who spent time with her could tell. The frustrating thing about it is that, that shouldn't inhibit her at all but not getting the recgonition it needs will make it harder for her growing up.

Ok now for the news. I wish I could say I was adopting her ha ha I would at the drop of a hat. But I am going to do something for children in her situation. I have changed my major to a double major in Communication Disorders and Sign Language. (I may minor in teaching) I also may get my masters. I can work as a para professional at elementry schools and be a speech therapist and give these kids the time and care the so rightfully deserve. I will make a difference.

See nothing to exciting, however its incredibly exciting to me! Love you all!
